How to Add Workshop Maps to Your CS2 Server
Add Steam Workshop maps to your MANAfuel CS2 server rotation with automatic downloads and map group configuration.
Find Workshop Map IDs
Browse the Steam Workshop for CS2 maps. Each map has a unique Workshop ID in its URL — the number after id= in the address bar. Copy the IDs for every map you want to add. Popular community maps include aim training maps, surf maps, KZ climbing maps, and custom competitive layouts. Note the IDs somewhere accessible — you will enter them in your server configuration.
Configure the Workshop Collection
You can add maps individually or create a Steam Workshop Collection containing all your desired maps. To create a collection, go to the Steam Workshop, click Create Collection, add your maps, and publish it. Copy the collection ID from the URL. Using a collection is recommended for servers with 5+ custom maps because it simplifies management — add or remove maps from the collection and the server picks up changes on restart.
Add Workshop Settings to Your Server
Open the File Manager in your MANAfuel dashboard and edit your server configuration. Add the Workshop collection ID or individual map IDs to the launch parameters in your server settings. The server downloads the maps automatically on startup. First-time downloads may take a minute depending on map size — subsequent starts use the cached versions.
Set Up Map Rotation
Edit the gamemodes_server.txt file in the File Manager to add your Workshop maps to the rotation. Each map entry requires the Workshop ID and the game mode it supports. For a surf-only server, list only surf maps. For a mixed server, create multiple map groups and cycle between them. The map rotation advances automatically after each match or when an admin changes the map.
Test Map Downloads
Connect to your server and verify Workshop maps load correctly. When a Workshop map is selected, players who do not have it downloaded receive it automatically from Steam. Large maps (100+ MB) may cause a brief loading delay for first-time players. Check the server console in your dashboard for download errors — if a map fails to download, verify the Workshop ID is correct and the map is still published on Steam.
